Empowering Your Call: Wellspring Grants & Scholarships

At Wellspring Chaplaincy Initiative, we believe healthcare chaplaincy is more than a profession—it is a sacred calling. Whether you are navigating your first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or you are a seasoned staff chaplain, we are here to support your growth.

Our mission is to remove financial barriers to excellence in spiritual care. We provide funding to help you pay your CPE unit fees, attend vital conferences, achieve board certification, and stay connected to your professional peers.

Grant Guidelines

  • Funding Caps: Up to $2,000 per year (max $5,000 over three fiscal years).

  • Location: Since Wellspring is a U.S.-based non-profit; we only accept applications from U.S. residents.

  • Timeline: Grants are for prospective activities. Please apply before your conference or CPE unit begins.

The Application Process

We’ve streamlined our process so you can focus on your ministry, not paperwork.

  1. Prepare Your Documents: Gather your Grant Application Form, Resume, CPE Certificates (if applicable), and your Faith Group Endorsement (for staff chaplains only).

  2. Identify Two References: Simply give us two names and contact information of your CPE educator, an academician, or a Board Certified Chaplain. No recommendation letters required—we reach out to them directly.

  3. Share Your Vision (The Essay): Write a 600–1,000 word reflection on your plan to contribute to Islamic healthcare chaplaincy.

    • Tip: Focus on how this funding will help you better serve patients and families.

  4. Submit: Email your completed package to info@wellspringchaplains.org.

Timeline & Deadlines

Applications are accepted year-round. To ensure we have time to review your request, please submit your application at least 6 weeks prior to the start of your CPE unit or conference.

Response Time: Our Grants Committee reviews applications on a rolling basis. You will typically receive an update on your status within 3–4 weeks of submission.

Your Road Map to Funding

Wellspring operates on a reimbursement model. Here is how the process works:

  1. Approval: You receive an official approval email from Wellspring.

  2. Activity: You attend your conference or pay your CPE fees.

  3. Report: Submit the Grant Expense Report Form along with your receipts (invoice for conference, airfare, etc.).

  4. Payment: Once your receipts are verified, we mail a check directly to you.

Thank you for the spiritual care you provide to patients, families, and staff every day. We are honored to walk this path with you!
